Yesterday the Commons voted to reduce the Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) for disabled people. This is a group of the most vulnerable in society, of whom 38% cannot afford to heat their home on the current payments they receive. This bill will make their lives worse.

The junior doctors’ strike and why we need to keep them happy

Earlier today thousands of junior doctors walked out of their jobs to protest the new contract being imposed by the Health Minister Jeremy Hunt. They claim the contract will lead to a decrease in pay and an increase in the hours worked by Doctors. The Government claims it will lead to a better, 7 day NHS. Who is correct?

A Word on the Migrant Crisis

By the end of 2014 there were 19.5 million people classed as refugees worldwide and the situation has gotten worse. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in the first two months of 2016, 131,724 refugees began the journey to Europe. 410 never arrived.  55% of those arriving from war-torn Syria are women and children. They are not looking to take your job, benefits or destroy British culture, they simply want a safe, warm bed. Too much to ask?

‘Ridiculous, Counter Productive, Playground Behavior’

That’s what I labeled the behavior in the House of Commons in my last post and things have got even worse since.

News just in: Be Afraid.

A 28 year old man was arrested yesterday after 2 guns were found in his luggage, as he entered the New York Hotel, near Disneyland Paris.

 

The man was arrested by police shortly after the firearms were detected by an x-ray machine in the entrance to the hotel, situated just a ten minute walk from Disneyland Paris which attracted 10 million visitors in 2014.

The bag contained two low caliber weapons including an automatic handgun, a box of ammunition and a Koran.  A woman who was accompanying the man was also arrested, yet was later released. The man’s car was also searched by police. Continue reading
