As our homes are illuminated more and more by the blue light of TV screens and smartphones, displaying information from our ever connected world, it seems hard not to disconnect with the ever darkening reality around us.
On a daily basis we are bombarded with bad news; ISIS attack another city, global warming threatens the earth as we know it, and Donald Trump isn’t being laughed out of the presidential campaign. This constant flow of bad news makes complete ignorance a very appealing option, yet i’m of the opinion we as citizens must attempt to educate ourselves on the pressing issues of today and make a change for what we feel is right.

Everyone should have an opinion and therefore with this blog I hope to raise some key issues of today, analyse them, share my opinion and welcome yours – the exchange of opinions is critical for a successful democracy. I believe the power of journalism, conversation and the willingness to create change can help our troubled world. But what do I know – I can’t even vote yet.
